Rumors of War
Israel faces committed enemies in Gaza and in the north with Lebanon. Arch enemy Iran actively supplies both with finances and weapons. Breaking Israel News asks the probing question, “Is Israel on the Verge of All out War?” Three areas particularly are of concern: Lebanon, Gaza, and Syria. Israel also struck targets recently in Iraq. Prime Minister Netanyahu has shown concern about this situation as he “ordered officials from the security cabinet to brief his chief rival former Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Benny Gantz who serves as leader of the Blue and White Party.” A very rare move in light of the upcoming election September 15.
The ongoing tensions in Gaza come from Islamic Jihad and Hamas, as they show no sign of ceasing their attacks on Israel. Hezbollah in Lebanon has stockpiled over 100,000 rockets prepared to unleash their fury on Israel, and Syria “continues to remain tense with the Iranian buildup there.”
Is war about to breakout in Israel? Yoel Guzansky, senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies ominously observes, “We need to be careful and open our eyes. I think something is coming up, we are seeing the quiet before the storm.” Now more than ever pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).
