Blood Money

In an interview with the Times of Israel, Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Commissioner for Prisoners Affairs Qadri Abu Bakr said, “We pay NIS50 million per month ($15 million) in salaries to Palestinians imprisoned by Israel for security purposes.” That totals NIS 600 million ($180 million) annually.

The program called by some Israeli leaders as pay-for-slay, describes the practice of Palestinian officials financially rewarding attacks on Israelis. “Ramallah has a long standing policy of compensating Palestinians jailed by Israel for security offenses, as well as those wounded or killed while committing violent terror attacks.”

According to a 2018 law, “Israel deducts the estimated cost of the stipends from tax revenues it collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority each month.”

The Israelis believe this financial program leads to further terrorism. The figures seem to agree, as Palestinian Media Watch notes, “According to PA Finance Ministry filings, the amount they transferred to the PLO increased from NIS161 million ($50 million) to NIS673 million ($209 million) in 2020.”

Those who financially support and stand with the Palestinian leadership provide blood money to terrorists in their violent attacks in Israel. How evil, immoral, and wicked is this practice. As David said of the wicked in Psalm 37:38, “But, the transgressors shall be destroyed together; the future of the wicked shall be cut off.” These terrorists, and those funding them, will one day stand before God for their murderous deeds.
