Caught in Her Words

Noted news commentator Christiane Amanpour recently compared President Trump to the Nazi attacks of Kristallnacht, which occurred November 9, 1938, and is considered ‘the starting point of the Holocaust.’ Saying that President Trump is attacking, “Fact, knowledge, and truth,” even as the Nazis did as they burned books and Jewish homes, businesses, and synagogues in that assault 82 years ago.

The response on social media and Israeli leaders toward Amanpour’s comment was immediate. Ben Habib, a former British European Parliament member of the Brexit party wrote, “How is this sort of prejudice tolerated on mainstream media? Third rate rubbish.”

Israel’s Diaspora Affairs Minister Omer Yankelevich wrote to CNN president, Jeffrey Zucker demanding “an immediate and public apology for the unacceptable comparison.” Her comments of “distortion and minimization of the Holocaust are deplorable lies that only encourage the evil voices of anti-Semitism.”

So far “CNN has not responded” regarding Amanpour’s remarks and the fitting outcry they elicited.

As Proverbs 12:13 says, “The wicked is ensnared by the transgression of his lips.” Consider yourself trapped by your own words Christiane and CNN!
