Celebrating Christmas in Israel

Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF), Israel’s largest green organization, is selling freshly cut Christmas trees to Christians in the Holy Land. The organization cuts the trees from groves in the Galilee region and sells them in heavily Christian areas in Israel each year, CBN News said. KKL-JNF says their annual distribution helps maintain “the texture of life in the state of Israel and serves as an example of good relations with all the country’s different religions. In addition, distribution cuts down illegal tree cutting and allows the general public to enjoy a beautiful tree for the holiday.”

Israeli Christians are so blessed to live in the land of the Bible. But since Christians are a small minority in Israel, it’s not as easy to celebrate Christmas the same way they might in a more Christian-populated nation. KKL-JNF makes the holiday a little more special for these families. No matter how you celebrate or what decorations or traditions you might have, you can always rejoice for the day we remember and consider the perfect gift God gave us when He sent His Son, Jesus, to Earth to save us from our sins. I hope you have a merry Christmas!
