Israel at War: Week 101
Here are four important news stories in Israel today:
1. Prime Minister Netanyahu states the attack in Doha was successful because ‘it sent a message.’ The message: “You can run, you can hide, but we will get you!” It appears no Hamas officials were killed in the attack.
2. Arab States in Emergency Summit Call to Review Diplomatic Ties With Israel. Sissi of Egypt says that Israel’s actions could abort existing peace deals. Details of the summit decisions have not yet been made public.
3. The UN Rapporteur on the Palestinian Territories says that Israel is using ‘Unconventional Weapons.’ “Anti-Israel rapporteur Francesca Albanese accuses the international community of complicity in ‘ethnic cleansing.’ Israel’s mission to the UN rejects her remarks.” Also, she did not clarify what she meant by unconventional weapons.
4. In Beersheba, Missile Battered Soroka Hospital Still Seeking Cash to Rebuild and Fortify. “The Negev’s main medical center is operating at limited capacity, as it works on fund raising efforts of NIS 1.2 billion, since they do not know how much the government can pay in the cost of the hospital’s rebuilding.
