Israel at War: Week 108
Eight dead hostages are in Hamas captivity. Hamas claims “it cannot get to some, and doesn’t know where others are.” Hamas has returned supposed hostages remains, yet Israel discovered upon examination the returned remains were not fallen Israeli hostages.
The remaining Israelis in Hamas captivity are:
Itay Chen,19 A U.S. national from Netanya. Killed October 7, 2023. “His family has decided not to sit shiva for him until he is returned and laid to rest.”
Meny Godard: 73, Killed October 7, 2023 at Kibbutz Be’eri; both he and his wife Ayelet were murdered. A joint funeral was held a couple weeks later, but she was the only one buried, while Meny was taken to Gaza by the terrorists from Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Lt. Hadar Goldin: 24, Killed August 1, 2014 in Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. Hamas took his body and he has yet to be released.
Master Sgt. Ran Gvili: 24, Killed fighting terrorists at Kibbutz Alumim October 7, 2023. Gvili left the hospital that morning to help defend his people. He was killed and his body taken to Gaza.
Joshua Loitu Mollel, 21, Agricultural intern from Tanzania. He was captured by Hamas terrorists October 7, 2023 at Kibbutz Nahal Oz. He planned to return to Tanzania and open an agricultural business.
Dror Or, 48, kidnapped from his home at Kibbutz Be’Eri, his wife Yonat was murdered, and their two children were kidnapped and released one month later in a hostage deal. “Dror was described as a talented culinary producer and a family man with inner peace who was able to dissolve frictions between people.”
Sudthisak Rinthalak, 43, from Thailand. He was killed at Kibbutz Be’eri October 7, 2023. His body was taken captive to Gaza.
Lior Rudaef, 61, killed near his home at Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak, he was defending his neighbors and family as part of the Rapid Response Team.
Please keep the families of these fallen Israelis in prayer, both for comfort in their loss and their soon release and return to them.
