Israel at War: Week 129
A strategic attack piece of the US-Israel alliance is the site of Kharg Island. The island, while strategic, creates a real risk because it provides the majority of Irans’s oil exports and attacking it would possibly provoke “a major escalation that could provide major retaliatory strikes on Gulf Arab infrastructure and further drive up oil prices.” Additionally, the island has housing for thousands of residents.
President Trump declared the military attacked and destroyed military targets on the island, but refrained from attacking oil infrastructure and facilities, as ninety military targets were struck. The U.S. has military forces and naval assets in the area prepared for an attack on this strategic, vital Iranian asset.
Shortly after the war broke out I was impressed how often the Psalms talked about the fate of the wicked and I applied that to the attack on Israel by Hamas.
I believe that the proxies of Iran, including Hamas, fall under the category of ‘the wicked.’ Psalm 37 begins like this, “Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herb.” It concludes in verse 38, “But the transgressors shall be destroyed together, the future of the wicked shall be cut off.” Lord, haste that day! Until then, continue praying for the peace of Jerusalem.
