Israel at War: Week 157
Two items in All Israel News are of interest. With Israel entering the third year of its war with Hamas, an amazing economic report shows Israel’s economy grew at a rate of 10%. Two sectors driving the growth are technology and defense.
“The Israeli economy has continued to grow despite three years of multifront war and international pressure, including calls to boycott Israel according to new data released by the Bank of Israel.” In spite of the toll the war has taken on casualties, as more than 2,000 Israelis both civilian and military have been killed.
Along with the GDP report, Israel’s stock market outperformed the U.S. markets. “The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange’s benchmark, the TA-35 Index which tracks 35 leading companies, has risen 130 percent over the past three years. The TA-125 index, which tracks 125 leading Israeli companies, gained 120 percent. Both of these outperforming their American counterparts.
These facts indicate both a resilient economy and an equally resilient Israeli population. A clear proof of God’s promise of Psalm 122:6, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, May they prosper who love thee.”
