Israel at War: Week 24
With the demand by United States President Joe Biden to build a pier to advance humanitarian aid into Gaza has come some startling and unsettling facts. Melanie Phillips in her article “The American Betrayal of Israel” explains. “Israel is fighting not one but two malevolent wars. The first is against the axis of Iran and its proxies: Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis of Yemen. The second is against America.” Those words are startling, America is a foe against Israel? She notes the reason she makes this statement. “This week Israeli TV’s Channel 14 reported that astoundingly, the Americans have handed over the financing and management of this pier to Qatar, the FOUNDER, FUNDER and PROTECTOR OF HAMAS and therefore THE GODFATHER OF THE OCTOBER 7 POGROM” (emphasis added). Channel 14 said the Qataris demanded that the new pier be built by a Gaza company named Al Hissi, which is controlled by Hamas.”
This means that with Qatar in control, “Hamas continues to exist, enrich itself and attack Israel with an open route into Gaza. As Yigal Carmon, the founder of MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute) has written in horror: “The US has flipped sides, from Israel to Qatar.” A frightening, horrible thought indeed!
She concludes, “Israel is not just fighting to defend itself against genocide. It is on the front line of the west’s defense against its enemies and the defense of civilization against barbarism.”
With Passover a month away, her final statement sends a resounding tone, ‘In every generation,’ say the Jews at Passover, ‘ they rise up against us.’ “To the enemies of the Jewish People today-Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran- we must add the Biden administration, Chuck Schumer, and the liberal Jewish fifth column.” To those eager to side with Israel’s enemies this promise made to Abram in Genesis 12:3 proclaims, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you.” The choice is clear to the nations and enemies of Israel: honor God’s promise of blessing the Jewish people or face the consequence of God’s cursing when you oppose and attack them. There is no middle ground.
