Israel At War: Week 50

The United Nations has convened a meeting under Secretary General Guterres as Moderator to discuss global situations that require action not discussion. He observed that people around the world wonder if they have the ability to solve these issues. Take Israel, for example, the recommended solution to the conflict with Hamas and Hezbollah is to have a cease-fire. One news by line put it this way as President Biden addresses the global body: “Failed President Addresses Corrupt UN for the Last Time.” Another reads, “Biden Describes Horrors of October 7, Urges Israel and Hamas to Accept Cease-Fire.” Israel currently has a six front war, and the IDF has just designated their battle with Hezbollah as “Operation Northern Arrows.” Yet the world wants Israel to capitulate, not Hamas or Hezbollah.

In another dramatic development, the newly installed leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar, has possibly met his demise in a recent air strike. Two news sources tell the story, “Hamas lost contact with Sinwar. Israel assessing if [he is] killed.” Another says, “Israel investigating if Sinwar killed, wounded, or has severed contact with the outside world.”

While Israel seeks to defeat Hamas and Hezbollah, their primary aim remains to free and return the hostages. That aim they seek to achieve daily. Pray for God’s strength and help in accomplishing it.
