Israel at War: Week 52

The sound of ‘Taps’ from a cemetery reminds people of the price of freedom, the loss of a soldier’s life.

Israel remembers 1,200 slain citizens, 250 hostages, 5,000 wounded, and a lifetime of memories from the attacks by Hamas. A year ago, 6,000 Hamas terrorists inflicted havoc, brutality, and death upon Israel. To date, Israel has lost 1,706 in the war.

A year later the war goes on, but Israel has advanced significantly in Gaza and Southern Lebanon, destroying nearly eighty percent of Hamas operatives in Gaza and destroying a significant number of Hezbollah’s leadership and munitions during the current Israel-Hamas War.

While the deaths, injuries, and destruction is hard, the best thing Israel can do is defeat completely, finally, Hamas and Hezbollah. For if they stop now, they will have to return to fight again. Prime Minister Netanyahu said from the outset of the war, “This is a war of good against evil, of light against darkness. And Light must Win!”

On the one-year anniversary of the attack by 6,000 Hamas terrorists into Israel, 130 rockets were launched into Israel. So the war goes on.

Continue praying for Israel’s victory, peace and strength in these days. Now more than ever, pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the rest of the nation, also.
