Israel at War: Week 60
Regarding the ceasefire agreement, the Biden Administration urged “both Beirut and Jerusalem to uphold the deal.” On Monday (4th), Hezbollah fired two rockets into Israel toward Mount Dov, and Israel retaliated with a wave of aerial attacks across Lebanon in response to violations of the truce by Hezbollah, including incursions into Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “Hezbollah firing at Mount Dov constitutes a serious violation of the ceasefire and Israel will respond forcefully. We are determined to continue to enforce the ceasefire and to respond to any violation by Hezbollah-and a minor violation will be treated as a major one.”
In Psalm 120, the psalmist expresses Israel’s plight exactly when he states, “My soul has too long dwelt with one who hates peace” (Psalm 120:6). Today is day 424 of the war, but the conflict has gone on far longer than that. So Israel has to treat “every minor violation as a major violation.” Please continue to pray for peace in Israel and for the release of the hostages.
