Israel at War: Week 66
Since the brutal attack on Israel by Hamas, freeing the hostages has had a central focus. Here are some items in the news today regarding a deal between Israel and Hamas:
• “Qatar’s Ruler Meets With Mideast Envoys for Biden and Trump to Discuss Gaza War and Hostage Deal.”
• “Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Meets with the incoming and outgoing US administrations according to a statement from his office.
• “Israeli Officials Detail Parameters of Hostage Deal That Will see 33 Captives freed in 1st Stage”
• The First Stage allows 33 Humanitarian Captives released; children, women, female soldiers, sick, and elderly. “Israel believes most of the 33 are alive but that some are dead, the officials said, noting that Jerusalem has not yet received any confirmation of their status.”
• The Zionist Organization of America has a strong response to the proposed deal with Hamas. “The ZOA Opposes Hostage Deal Terms: Release of Thousands of Arab Terrorists, including Jew killers; No Assurances the Hostages are alive; Israel’s Withdrawal from the Philadelphi Corridor.” This sounds like a great deal for Hamas and a raw deal for Israel.
• Meanwhile in a battle in Gaza, five IDF soldiers were killed and ten wounded, eight seriously.
While negotiations continue, the war drags on and the hostages remain in captivity. Please continue supporting Israel in this time through your prayer and even through donating to help their cause. You can donate through The Friends of Israel. THANK YOU for your support of Israel at this critical hour.
