Israel at War: Week 84
The Special Envoy to Israel, Steven Witkoff, needs to listen to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s aim for the Israel-Hamas War. Those aims are: Dismantle and destroy Hamas; Return all the hostages; Make sure Hamas will never again threaten Israeli citizens.
He is currently pressuring both Hamas and Israel to take the latest proposal for peace. However, the terms, as usual, favor Hamas. For example Israel would receive half of the hostages, while releasing 300 Palestinian prisoners. That is not a good deal for Israel, and frankly, Witkoff needs to go from his position. He seems to want Hamas, not Israel, to win in this struggle.
Mr. Witkoff, hear Prime Minister Netanyahu’s words and use them to craft a proposal worth presenting to and pressuring Israel to sign. On October 8 in his declaration of war on Hamas, Netanyahu said, “This is a war of good against evil, of light against darkness, and light must win.”
This is a war that must be won against Hamas. Nothing short of releasing all the hostages and a total surrender by Hamas. Anything less leaves Hamas the victor and Israel the loser. The terrorists MUST NOT WIN.
