Israel at War: Week 86
On Sunday afternoon June 1, in a shocking attack in Boulder, Colorado, an Egyptian man Mohamed Soliman, allegedly attacked marchers demonstrating for the release of hostages held in Gaza by Hamas. In his attack, Soliman shouted his desire to kill Zionists.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said regarding the attack, “This attack was aimed against peaceful people who wished to express their solidarity with the hostages held by Hamas, simply because they were Jews.”
The group, named “Run for Their Lives,” is part of “a global initiative with 230 groups promoting awareness of the plight of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.”
The weekly march for the hostages began after the October 7 attack and has continued weekly since then. The Boulder attack happened less than two weeks after the attack and murder of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, D.C. “Jewish security officials warned then that the murders could inspire copycat attacks against other Israeli or Jewish targets in the US.”
The Jewish community in Boulder is a fast growing one, and the attack leaves them “with pain, anger, and fear, but the march will not be stopped.” Add resolve and determination to the list of emotions experienced by the Boulder, Colorado Jewish community. Uphold them and the injured participants before God in prayer.
Thank God we can boldly and confidently say, “Am Yisroel Chai!” The people of Israel live!
