Israel at War: Week 98
Separating fact from myth is very important for Israel in the arena of public opinion. It truly is the eighth front for Israel fighting the mass media, which they have been losing. The current myth of Israel starving the Palestinian people has affected Israel’s international standing, leading many western nations to say they will publicly support a Palestinian state at the beginning of the United Nations General Assembly in September.
Tony Perkins questioned Caroline Glick on his “Washington Watch” show and asked her pointedly “Is Israel starving the Palestinian people?” Her reply mirrors these statistics from Newsrael: Since May the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF) has distributed “nearly 100 MILLION MEALS (emphasis added) directly to civilians feeding 1-2 million Gazans per day. The key has been bypassing Hamas control and coercion of the food supply. Israel’s massive supply of aid being delivered by the GHF has managed to elude the theft of the food supply by Hamas as it did previously when UNWRA was in control. “By restoring food access outside of Hamas control, Israel shifts civilian reliance from the terrorist group’s shadow governance.”
Clearly Hamas, not Israel, is creating the starvation and famine in Gaza. The food distributed by Israel provides three meals a day per Gazan. Now if only the rest of the world will hear and receive that message!
