Prime Minister Netanyahu visits UN Jerusalem Exhibition
Prime Minister Netanyahu on Thursday (9th) visited the Jerusalem Exhibition currently being presented at the UN building in New York. The exhibit presents 3,000 years of Jewish continuity in Jerusalem. It includes original archeology finds that were discovered in Israel which underscore the continuous link of the Jewish people to Israel and Jerusalem in various periods. Among the items are a First Temple-era seal discovered earlier this year and an impression of the seal of King Hezekiah.
Netanyahu said: “This is a magnificent exhibit. There is a long history that is being cherished by us and by the friends of the Jewish people and the friends of truth – and is being denied by those who seek to erase the history of our people – our connection to our land and our connection to our eternal capital, Jerusalem.”
“This exhibit would not have been possible ten years ago and this exhibit will be unnecessary ten years from now….We are changing Israel’s position in the world.”

Israeli doctors save Syrian mother, baby – Judy Siegel-Itzkovich
A pregnant Syrian woman who was recently given the choice of dying or having her unborn son die decided to try to save both. The woman – facing almost certain death from a high-risk pregnancy – entered Israel and was treated at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa. Both mother and baby are fine and returned home last Tuesday (6th).

Gaza resident arrested after crossing into Israel with grenade, knife
The IDF arrested two Palestinians early Sunday (11th) after they separately crossed the border fence from the Gaza Strip into Israel, one of them carrying a grenade and a knife. The army said he is suspected of planning to carry out a terror attack in Israel.
The two were transferred to security forces for interrogation.

PA rewrites history of terrorist Dalal Mughrabi
Wafa, the official news agency of the Palestinian Authority, marked the anniversary of the Coastal Road Massacre (March 11, 1978) by claiming that all the Israeli victims were soldiers.
Dalal Mughrabi who was killed with eight other terrorists while leading that attack, has had a number of places and buildings in the PA named for her. The terror cell’s first victim, when they landed on a beach near Tel Aviv was Gail Rubin, a photographer. They then hijacked two buses, killing Egged employees and families with children returning from a trip. 38 Israelis were killed, including 13 children. 72 were wounded.

Honduras, Paraguay said ready to open Jerusalem embassies if Netanyahu visits
After the United States, Guatemala and possibly the Czech Republic, two more countries were said on Sunday (11th) to be prepared to move their embassies in Israel to Jerusalem.
Paraguay and Honduras are both ready “in principle” to take the step, provided that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu first makes an official visit to their country, Army Radio quoted a senior Israeli diplomatic source as saying.

Islamic Jihad terrorist accidentally blows himself up in Gaza
A member of Saraya al-Quds, Islamic Jihad’s armed wing, died in an “accidental explosion” in the northern Gaza Strip, said Ashraf al-Qidra, a spokesman for the Hamas-run Health Ministry in the coastal enclave on Saturday night (10th).
Qidra identified the deceased member as 27-year-old Ibrahim Frahat. He died while manufacturing weapons and ammunitions for Islamic Jihad in a house in the Sheikh Zayed neighborhood of Beit Lahiya.
Several members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad armed wings have died in various “accidents” since the 2014 Gaza War according to Qidra.

AJC says Putin’s comments on Jews like ‘Protocols of the Elders of Zion’
A prominent U.S. Jewish group on Saturday (10th) slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin for suggesting earlier in the day that Russians who sought to influence the results of the 2016 U.S.presidential elections could have been Jews, saying his remarks were “eerily reminiscent of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.”
The Protocols was a forged text produced in Russia at the end of the 19th century, which purports to outline Jewish plans to take over the world. It has been used by anti-Semites throughout the 20th and 21st centuries as justification for their views.
Putin said: ‘Jews with Russian citizenship may have interfered in the U.S. election.’

Turkish newspaper close to President Erdogan calls to form joint Islamic Army to fight Israel
On December 12, 2017, the Turkish daily Yeni Safak,, which is close to President Erdogan, called on the 57-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to form a joint “Army of Islam” to besiege and attack Israel. It also advocated establishing joint bases for the army’s ground, air and naval forces that will arrive from all over the Muslim world to besiege the Jewish State.

Berlin: Arab guards accost Israelis at trade fair
Three Arab security guards verbally assaulted and shouted anti-Israel slogans at representatives of an Israeli booth participating in the ITB Tourism Trade Fair in Berlin Thursday (8th)
According to the report the three assailants, employed by the firm and charged with handling security at the event, shouted “Free Palestine” and “Freedom to Palestine.”
The three were removed by police from the premises.

Anti-Semitic vandalism in Holland rises 40% to highest level since 2007
The number of incidents involving anti-Semitic vandalism recorded in the Netherlands last year increased 40 percent to a 10-year high of 28 cases.
The increase in vandalism was part of a small overall rise in anti-Semitic incidents in 2017 over 2016, the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel, (CIDI), wrote in its annual incidents report, which was published Saturday (10th). CIDI recorded 113 incidents in 2017 compared to 109 in 2016.
