Slay for Pay Continues
Mahmoud Abbas has vowed to continue what is called “Slay for Pay”. This payment rewards families whose relatives kill or injure Israeli Jews. This has provided Palestinian families 138 million dollars in 2018, according to Palestinian Media Watch. The Defense Ministry said that the more severe the crime, the more terrorists are paid. It can pay a family member up to NIS 2,000 per month to someone who is serving 3-5 years in prison. While someone serving 20-35 years can receive NIS 10,000 per month.
Both Israel and the US have acted against the PA for this horrible process. Prime Minister Netanyahu will authorize withholding taxes and tariffs collected by the PA. President Trump has cut the remainder of the United States aid to the PA because of this funding of terror. Yesh Atid MK Elazar Stern says that people have asked, ‘How did we accept this bizarre situation for years?’
