First Time Since June: UAV Infiltrates Israel From Lebanon, Sirens In Northern Israel
For the first time since June, sirens sounded early Wednesday morning (2nd) in the communities of HaGoshrim, Ma’ayan Baruch and Kfar Yuval in the Galilee panhandle following a suspected infiltration of an unmanned aerial vehicle.
Shortly afterwards, the Home front Command announced that the incident had concluded and that residents could leave shelters.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said, “Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago regarding hostile aircraft infiltration in several areas in northern Israel, interceptors were launched toward a suspicious aerial target that likely crossed from Lebanon to Israeli territory.”
It added that the interception results are under review. No injuries were reported. The missile and rocket alerts were activated due to the interception attempts.
Meanwhile, Lebanese media reported that the IDF carried out airstrikes in the area of Ali al-Taher in southern Lebanon.
IDF forces operating under the command of the 91st Division expanded their operational activity in the security zone in southern Lebanon on Tuesday (1st). The operation is aimed at clearing the area of threats and dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure.
As part of the operation, combat teams from the 769th, 4th, and 55th Brigades conducted searches to locate and neutralize intelligence and combat infrastructure. During the searches, the troops uncovered weapons stockpiles and a variety of military equipment used by Hezbollah terrorists.
Among the arms seized and confiscated were guided anti-tank missiles, rocket launchers, launchers, explosive devices, grenades and Kalashnikov rifles, as well as personal equipment including vests, uniforms and helmets.
IDF, Shin Bet Capture Hamas’ Head Of Internal Security During Joint Operation In Gaza Strip
The IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) on Tuesday night (1st) confirmed in a statement that they had captured Hamas’ head of Internal Security while carrying out strikes on several targets in the Gaza Strip in response to threats against Israeli forces.
Earlier in the day, an Israeli official told The Jerusalem Post that the terrorist who was captured was Mu’inal-Arabid, Hamas’ head of the General Security Apparatus.
However, a Palestinian source in Gaza said that the man captured was in charge of Hamas’ internal security department in the area of Gaza City.
The source added that members of an anti-Hamas group played a role in the operation, and that the terror organization is trying to “downplay the incident and that its internal security forces are actively pursuing militias supported by Israel.”
“A short time ago, a senior Hamas terrorist was arrested, and this is our policy: We do not wait for threats. Instead, we pursue Hamas terrorists, thwart them, and destroy their terrorist infrastructure. We have built a strong and unprecedented security zone in Gaza to protect residents and IDF soldiers,” Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Tuesday afternoon (1st).
“Nearly 70% of the Gaza Strip has been destroyed, with no residents, no tunnels, and no homes, and the IDF controls the territory. We are not leaving Gaza until the Strip is demilitarized, Hamas is disarmed, and the terrorist tunnels are destroyed. Even after that, the IDF will remain in Gaza along defensive lines and ensure the security of the Western Negev communities. Any attempt to bypass the security zone through aerial launches will be met with a harsh response.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Shin Bet and IDF for their “bold action in arresting the head of Hamas’ General Security Apparatus from his home,” in a statement released on Tuesday (1st).
Netanyahu called the terrorist “one of the most senior Hamas leaders,” adding that he was “responsible for hiding and transporting our hostages, hiding Hamas senior figures, and building the terror force, including attempting to restore the terror group’s capabilities.”
“Recently he had been involved in attempts to restore the Hamas government in Gaza, in deception on the issue of demilitarizing the Strip, and assisting carrying out terror acts against the IDF and Israeli citizens,” the prime minister added.
“My directive is clear: The State of Israel will continue to pursue all Hamas leaders and everyone who took part in the October 7 massacre,” Netanyahu stated.
Initially, Al Hadath reported that the IDF had coordinated with Gazan militias to attempt to “kidnap a figure near the Red Cross headquarters in Gaza.”
IDF sources would not deny foreign reports that Israel worked alongside Gazan militias to arrest the senior Hamas official.
These groups can only survive now with clear IDF protection and can only confront Hamas for small and limited operations.
The militias number in the hundreds while Hamas has thousands or more foot soldiers. The militias might contribute over the long term to Hamas’ downfall, but they will not be a central component to it. Rather, most experts agree that either some arm of the Palestinian Authority or a hybrid of the PA, Egypt, the ISF, and some outside IDF support would be needed to overcome Hamas in the long term.
Eastern Jerusalem Schools Swap Palestinian Curriculum For Israeli Program – Nir Hassan
All newly opened grades in public schools in Palestinian-majority eastern Jerusalem will use the Israeli curriculum as the school year began Tuesday (1st). After Israel annexed eastern Jerusalem in 1967, the education system in the Palestinian areas of the city taught the Jordanian curriculum, which was later replaced by the Palestinian curriculum.
This year – after a long process that began at the initiative of parents, followed by Israeli government pressure on school principals in the city – all new first grade and seventh grade classes opening in the state education system in eastern Jerusalem will use the Israeli curriculum. This means 45,000 students (38%) of a total of 120,000 Palestinian students in eastern Jerusalem will study the Israeli curriculum. For many years, parent committees and Palestinian activists in the city opposed the introduction of the Israeli curriculum, but opposition gradually waned as demand for it grew. According to sources in the Jerusalem Municipality, in contrast with prior years, this school year there is no significant opposition to the Israelization process among Palestinians in the city.
Estonia Eyes Israel’s David Sling For Missile Defense Against Russia
Estonia is contemplating purchasing Israel’s David Sling missile defense system as it bolsters its long-range air defenses and plans to invest over 1 billion euros in a new long-range ground-based air defense system to protect strategic sites.
In addition to the combat-proven Israeli system, Tallinn is also looking at the American Patriot and the Franco-Italian SAMP/T, Estonia’s ERR news website reported, adding that about five bids were received from various companies. ERR quoted the country’s Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur as saying that some companies could deliver within two to three years, while others would take eight to nine years to deliver the system.
Estonia’s Center for Defense Investment (ECDI) has already completed an extensive market assessment of available missile defense systems, and will look not only at how much the system costs to acquire, but also life cycle costs that include personnel, training, and long-term maintenance.
“The most difficult thing is, of course, with US products, because they are also actively used in Ukraine, and we see that the most difficult thing is with ammunition there. This is the work that we now have to do with companies to understand whether what was offered to us is actually feasible or not.” Pevkur was quoted by ERR as saying.
David’s Sling missile defense system is designed to intercept tactical ballistic missiles, medium-tolong-range rockets and cruise missiles fired at ranges between 40 and 300 kilometers.
The system is a joint Israel-US project, with Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems collaborating with American defense contractor Raytheon, which also produces the Patriot missile system.
Other components of the system were developed by Elta – a subdivision of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) which developed the system’s radar, and the Elisra subdivision of Elbit Systems, which developed the command and control mechanisms.
Europe has increasingly turned to Israeli air defense technology over the past decade, especially after Russia invaded Ukraine and the growing demand for rapid, combat-proven systems. Several Israeli systems, including the Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Spyder, have been selected by European governments.
On Monday (8/31), Greece and Israel signed one of the largest defense export agreements in Israel’s history: a 3 billion euro government-to-government deal that will see Israel design and deliver a complete, multi-layered national air defense architecture for the Hellenic Republic’s Achilles Shield project.
The project will integrate several Israeli-made systems into a unified national network. At its core are David’s Sling, Barak MX, and SPYDER missile defense systems developed by Israeli defense companies and already deployed operationally within Israel’s own air defense array.
Germany also purchased Israel’s Arrow 3 system with a landmark 4 billion euro agreement to provide exoatmospheric interception capability. Finland purchased David’s Sling after joining NATO, signing a deal worth more than 300 million euros.
Central European states have also moved toward Israeli systems, with the Czech Republic receiving the SPYDER medium-range system, Slovakia selecting the Barak MX, and Romania reportedly in negotiations to acquire the Iron Dome, which would make it the first European country to deploy Israel’s famous short-range interceptor.

Israel is a country full of heroes. There are people who rescued hostages from captivity, who gathered intelligence about Iran’s nuclear program, and who helped locate hostages. There are soldiers who fought for their homeland, who were injured defending it, and those who never returned home.
There are the rescue teams who travel across the world when disaster strikes, digging through ruins after earthquakes, and helping communities after floods. There are ZAKA volunteers who recover and identify victims of terrorist attacks, accidents and disasters, Israelis who helped bring Syrians wounded during the civil war across the border for treatment in Israeli hospitals, and Israelis involved in providing medical treatment to Gazans.
There are the farmers who continue working while rockets are flying, teachers who try to give children normality during war; volunteers who cook meals, collect equipment, drive across the country and help soldiers and displaced families.
Among Israel’s greatest heroes are the parents who bring their sons and daughters to the IDF recruitment office, hug them, smile through their fear, and watch their child walk away to defend the homeland.
A country containing this many people willing to defend it, rebuild it, heal it, rescue others, volunteer for it, argue about it and love it with every fiber of their being is not easily defeated. Israel will survive long after those who dream of its destruction have disappeared into history.

I Don’t Want Our Children Growing Up In An Islamic State: Austria Moves To Ban “Political Islam”
Austria’s government is preparing a proposal to constitutionally ban “political Islam,” after Chancellor Christian Stocker declared the ideology “incompatible with democracy and Western values.” Integration Minister Claudia Bauer is now drafting a proposal for Austria’s governing coalition, vowing: “We will fight political Islam with all means possible.”
“I do not want our children and grandchildren to grow up in an Islamic state,” Stocker said, arguing that religious freedom ends where democratic institutions, equal rights, and Austrian law are rejected. He warned against Islamist influence in schools, including pressure over how girls dress, adding: “it cannot be allowed to happen in this country that a preacher dictates things rather than Parliament.”
The push comes amid growing concern over Islamist influence in Austria, where the government already operates a center dedicated to monitoring political Islam, including the Muslim Brotherhood and the activities of Hezbollah and Hamas.
