Saudi Arabia Embassy Sends Rosh Hashanah Greetings
Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Washington DC surprised many people when they sent out Rosh Hashanah greetings to the Jewish community in the United States, wishing them a happy and sweet Jewish New Year. According to the report, it was the first time the embassy has sent such a message to Jewish people in America. The card said, “Happy Shana Tova,” along with images of honey and apples, all foods traditionally eaten at Rosh Hashanah feasts.
Tensions between Saudi Arabia and Israel have always been high. But within the past few years, there has been a very slow softening to one another as they have worked together to combat a common threat, Iran. Israel and Saudi Arabia have been very intentional to share security and information and to help thwart the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world… Iran. Let’s hope these two countries continue to work together, tearing down walls, for the sake of peace.
