“The ‘Forgotten’ Jewish Refugees”
Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, told the General Assembly that it’s his intentions to propose a resolution about what he called “the ‘forgotten’ Jewish refugees” to counter what Israel sees as a one-sided focus on Palestinian refugees in the United Nations. Danon is referring to the more than 850,000 Jewish people that were forcibly removed from Arab countries like Iran, Iraq, Yemen, and Libya to name a few.
Well here’s my take, the world needs to know that the Palestinian refugee crisis doesn’t compare to the Jewish refugee issue that existed in and around 1948. Jewish people were forcibly removed from Arab countries they lived in for more than 2000 years. The reason you don’t know about this crisis is because Israel accepted these displaced Jews as citizens long ago. Even today certain Muslim countries like Lebanon or Syria refuse to accept Palestinians as citizens perpetuating the Palestinian plight.
