Truth for Lies
Israel has to constantly counter international coverage with truth. One recent example is the Associated Press presenting Israel as an Apartheid state based on the radical organization B’Tselem’s accusation that Israel is ‘an apartheid state.’ “Several major news organizations including the Washington Post, ABC and CBS News, used an Associated Press report that accused Israel of trying to ‘ban’ the radical B’Tselem organization. Earlier this month, these outlets promoted B’tselem’s adoption of the anti-Israel Palestinian lie that Israel is an apartheid state.”
In response to this accusation by B’Tselem, Israeli education Minister Yoav Galant barred members of the organization “from making presentations or conducting other activities in government funded public schools.”
Galant’s action is rooted in the Israeli law passed by the Knesset in 2018 which “authorizes the education minister to prevent members of groups that ‘act against the goals of education and the IDF from entering schools.” As the media watchdog group HonestReporting states,
“The law was intended to curb organizations from fanning flames of hatred against Israel through the promotion of the BDS annihilationist agenda. The contradiction between B’Tselem’s ‘apartheid accusation’ and what is meant to be taught in Israeli public schools could not be more stark.”
King David knew the frustration of his enemies attempts to undermine and defeat him through false accusations. In Psalm 109:2 his words aptly describe Israel’s enemies use of the international media today. “For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful have opened against me; They have spoken against me with a lying tongue.”
