How Can Our Jewish People Find Peace?
Some People Feel Peace Is Found In
- Pleasure – having a good time
- Popularity – having many friends
- Prestige – having acceptability with people
- Power – having control over people
- Position – having made it to the top
- Philanthropy – having done benevolent acts
- Possessions – having money and prosperity
All these pursuits seem to bring peace, yet we know people who have these things and still have no peace. A Jewish man by the name of Solomon, who had all these things, said, “Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labor that I had labored to do; and, behold, all was vanity (futility) and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun” (Eccl. 2:11).
