Inside View Jul/Aug 2026
Did you know that The Friends of Israel (FOI) staff regularly prays for you? When you contact FOI and share prayer requests with us, we add them to our prayer list so that our staff all over the world can pray for them. Many use this list throughout the week to intercede for you.
Every Wednesday, we gather corporately for our online chapel service and bring your specific concerns before God. We also offer praises for how the Lord is working in and through your partnership with us to sustain our ministry to His Chosen People. We pray that the Lord will make our ministry effective in your walk and use our publications, podcasts, videos, and other resources to deepen your relationship with Him and His Word. We ask that He will help you defend Israel in your interactions with others and share the Good News of the gospel.
Intercessory prayer is part of our ministry’s DNA, and we cherish the privilege of interceding on your behalf. Graciously, the Lord allowed me to grow up in a faithful Christian family; and during my years with FOI, He has placed godly mentors in my life who prioritize prayer. I refuse to take this gift for granted or neglect the significance of a praying community.
However, I have noticed a subtle temptation to prioritize my work while abadoning my desperate need for His involvement in my daily ministry. Such a misstep can happen quickly to any of us. Maybe we want to feel productive, so we fail to bring our opportunities or challenges that require counsel before Him and hyperfixate on strategy, the urgent task at hand, or the day’s to-do list. Unwittingly, we diminish the power and priority of prayer.
The value of our prayer comes from where we place our confidence: Do we trust in God or in our own wisdom, power, and strength? Well known is the Ephesians 6 passage about putting on the whole armor of God. The apostle Paul instructed us to be strong and prepared because we wrestle not against forces we can see “but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (v. 12). We must equip ourselves for battle (vv. 13–18).
Near the end of that section, we find a wonderful picture of a Christian fully dressed in armor, completely dependent on the Lord for the unknown and unseen. Then Paul taught us to pray “with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” before adding a personal request: “and for me, . . . that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel” (vv. 18–19). Understanding our spiritual battle, Paul emphasized the importance of praying for “all the saints” who battle against the same world of darkness and sin.
So, I want to thank you for praying for The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry. We don’t take your intercession for us lightly, and we are certain the Lord hears your prayers. I hope you feel the same encouragement, knowing that we are praying for you, brothers and sisters in Christ. We serve a perfect and gracious heavenly Father, the sovereign God and Creator of the universe. As His children, we can “come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb. 4:16).
