A number of years ago I had in my library a book titled Great Chapters of the Bible. The author was the late Dr. G. Campbell Morgan, a renowned British biblical scholar and pastor.
Of the many imaginative discourses offered by the Talmudic rabbis is one based on Genesis 28:12.
Ezekiel 36:8–15 Israel is the key in God’s prophetic program among the nations of the world, for it was chosen to be His means of bringing blessing to the world.
Ezekiel 36:16–24 A few years ago a survey was taken to determine which events cause the greatest stress on a family. It was discovered that, next to the death of a spouse...
Ezekiel 36:22–38 In the beginning, God planned a beautiful creation. He created seas and a place of lush vegetation. He made creatures to inhabit the seas and the dry land.
I completely understand why Jews have a distrust of Christians because of the travesties done in the “name of Christ” but by non-Christian entities. Because of that I can even understand their unwillingness to trust “that man” as their Messiah. What I cannot comprehend is why believers deny and reject the role of Israel and the Jews in God’s future plan and economy. To accept replacement theology is to accuse God of being a liar, 1 John 5:10 and an “Indian-giver”. Furthermore, they haven’t stopped to think about the fact that if God can break His covenants and word to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David and ultimately to Israel what is to keep Him from doing so with the church when believers disappoint, disobey and bring shame, disgrace and dishonor to His name? Liberal believers are notorious for discrediting God’s word in many ways. They will have to give account at the bema seat judgment of Christ.
Dwight,
I agree. We as true Christians will believe as Scripture tells us that He WILL do as He has promised in the land of Israel. All His promises He MUST do for He IS God. And so we can also believe one day He WILL come and take His people home with Him and we can also believe that His Son died that this occur. What do we have for a God if we WILL NOT believe what He has said? What do we have for a faith if we do not KNOW what He has said. Read your Bible! Believe His beautiful word. Our treasures are in Him and in IT!
