God’s Amazing Grace
Our granddaughter, Kayla, is 3 years old and wants a Dorothy Dinosaur costume for Christmas this year. But she already received an even better gift. We thought she might never be able to walk; but through God’s grace, now she can run! Born with tibial hemimelia, Kayla had no tibia bone between the knee and foot. Parents Mike and Judy were told by leading pediatricians that surgery was the only option and that walking would present a challenge. But God’s love knows no bounds. Kayla’s “Lizzy Leg” was fitted just 10 months ago; and she has astounded her medical team with her ability to walk, jump, and run—all in such a brief time. Also, a Melbourne, Australia, Para Olympian world record holder of the 50 meters Butterfly event heard of Kayla’s story and offered to mentor her in swimming. Truly, the God of Israel, who gave His “indescribable Gift” that first Christmas, is the One whose love and goodness continue each day to sustain Kayla, our whole family, and all who believe in Him.
