Happy 75th birthday Israel!!!
Only when Israel is rightly related to their Messiah, Jesus Christ, will there be world peace. “Even so Lord Jesus come quickly”.
I so appreciate the wonderful article “Israel’s 75th Birthday”. When I first met my late husband in 1970 (Washington state) who was adopted as a teen by a Christian pastor in Long Island, New York, he had.a testimony of redemption (published in “Faith at Work” magazine 1977). Don also became a pastor and often spoke of his passion for Israel–the people, history, Six Day War, Eternal Messiah. We have a DVD “In Our Hands” about the battle for Israel–a modern day miraculous event. Don so appreciated “Israel My Glory” magazine for many years, and inspired this same affection in me and our children. He often spoke of wanting to visit Israel but died suddenly from an accident in a small plane in 2003.Then our daughter died in 2004. Finally, in September/October 2017 my son and his family invited me to go with them on a 5-week trip to Israel during the fall feasts. While we stayed in an an Air B&B apartment in the Jerusalem synagogue neighborhood we always walked everywhere, including to the Old City, museums, shopping, zoo, and Netivyah–The Way–Christian synagogue for Shabbats and feasts. I found out what “Up to Jerusalem” means!. So, while at a neighborhood playground we met a small group of young rabbis’ families who invited us to a feast in one of their homes (what encouraging talks). We rented a car twice to visit specific places in other areas of Israel and experienced most without expensive tours. My son, who had studied Israel from a young age when he drew maps and wrote reports on Israel for school projects, had studied ahead for this special trip. So, I am thankful for the experience that became a reality. In loving memory of my husband Donald.
