My wife and I, along with another couple, had the wonderful experience of being in Israel for its fortieth anniversary. Hadn’t given a thought initially when planning the year before that we would be there for the anniversary. It took a year of planning since we toured on our bikes – packed tents and all our gear on the bikes, loaded on El Al, and spent three weeks traveling and camping. If you can be there for anniversary celebrations, it’s a great time.
