The Prophetic Alignment

Squeezing Israel to make concessions to belligerent Gentile nations, whether they happen to be Arabs or others, falls into precise alignment with what is laid out in the prophetic Scriptures. The last days will be tumultuous times for the Jewish people, who will be back in the land of their fathers.

Jerusalem will become “a cup of trembling unto all the peoples” (Zech. 12:2). Therefore, the current demands for a piece of the Holy City by the Palestinians, and the demands to control its future destiny by assorted nations and religious powers, are to be expected. Jesus said, “Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled” (Lk. 21:24).

Radical Islamic nations will increasingly gravitate toward alliances with the King of the North and march in lockstep with his hordes as they move toward the Middle East (Ezek. 38:1–7).

Russia will play out its role on “the mountains of Israel” (Ezek. 38:8), where its armies will fall beneath the weight of God’s wrath. During this opening salvo of the Armageddon campaign, Russia will have dropped the facade of devious diplomatic subversion and thrust southward, “To take a spoil, and to take a prey” and to attack “the people that are gathered out of the nations” (Ezek. 38:12).

For his part, the Antichrist, having risen from the Western tier of the international community, will take his place on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and commit the ultimate blasphemy: “he, as God, sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God” (2 Th. 2:4). By this time, a credulous world—conditioned to dignify the lies of unscrupulous political leaders—will be fully prepared to embrace the big lie and worship the Antichrist.

Thankfully, there is a last chapter. “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory” (Mt. 24:30).

“And the Lᴏʀᴅ shall be king over all the earth” (Zech. 14:9).
