A Few Things Out There
Wearable Technology
Fashion and technology are combining to make the next wave of technology more stylish. The media giant Google has created Google Glass, a wearable set of frames that is constantly connected to the Internet, providing you with weather, news, emails, contacts, and phone calls.
These glasses are also incredibly invasive and pose a threat to privacy. If hacked, your Google Glass could become the prowling eyes for the police or government.
Biotechnology
After mapping the human genome in 2003, researchers started to examine how to cure the root cause of such diseases as Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and cancer. However, this form of biotechnology could also introduce the world to a DNA-level bioterrorism if not properly managed.
Neurotechnology
Wearable straps that wrap around the head are being connected to computers to monitor the brain activity of air traffic controllers in a Tufts University beta project outside Boston.
This type of neurotechnology looks for stress and fatigue. The vision is that one day, the human brain will interact with computers through mental commands only.
