How I love your “story.” It is now February 2022–I had bookmarked this post and have not looked into my “bookmarks” until today (must be the aging process.. ha!) My “journey” is quite a story, but thanks be to God, better late than never. I am now 72 (I’m told a young 72–another ha). My prayer, wish and dream would be to go to Israel, but, sadly, I don’t think that’s a possibility. I was raised Christian by denominational standards, but in my 40’s through the example of a dear person, great nondenominational churches, and most of all, the calling of the Lord, I learned the truth and am truly a believer and a follower. I’ve learned of Messianic Judaism and, oh, how I would have loved to come to the homeland, joined and learned so much more. But, God’s will be done and if it can’t happen, I at least I’m introduced to. believers like you–so, thank you so much for sharing. May the Lord bless and keep you and yours and His children and may we meet if not here, then, at our promised home.
What a beautiful testimony! Yes, Jesus said “… ye must be born again …” And you’re absolutely right that a woman’s testimony was not believed in the first century. So glad that Jesus raised the social level for women. “… the two olive trees and the two candlesticks …” are feminine in the original Greek but they won’t have it any better than men.
Steve, great article! I love this terminology, “Because they believed, their hearts were “koshered”—made fit to love God”… Perfect analogy and a great way to communicate God’s work in our hearts. Blessings!
Loved this Steve! I had the privilege of working with a Messianic Rabbi for a number of years.
He was my dear friend P Richard Weintraub with whom I attended Bible School in the late 70’s. He received Jesus Christ as his Messiah as a student at Boston College and instantly left it all behind to go to Bible School and become a pastor! So very excited that he called his Mom and Dad to share the good news with them! But, he told me one time, “I remember I heard my Father rip his coat and cry out to God and my Mother, ‘My son is dead! My son is dead!’”
He passed into glory last month! But, thank God that both of his parents did eventually turn to Jesus as Messiah and were waiting in heaven to greet him right after Jesus welcomed him.
Many thanks Steve for article. I always appreciate your perspective. Moses’ legacy is so important to the modern Church, but his connection to Yeshua isn’t talked about very much in gentile churches in North America. We are missing a big part of the picture.

GOD converted me with, “Christ the Lord IS risen today” – JESUS is the SON of GOD ! Later I found out, I am Jewish !
