I don’t know what the situation will be by the time you receive this issue of Israel My Glory. Today we’re “sheltering in place,” unable to go practically anywhere. And when we do venture out, we wear face masks. It’s a different world.
The last horrific pandemic was the H1N1 virus in 1918–1919 that infected an estimated 500 million people—one third of the world’s population—and killed at least 50 million worldwide, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. I imagine people then also thought their world was different.
To make matters worse, the truth is often buried. On her website carolineglick.com, Israeli-American journalist Caroline Glick reported months ago, “It is widely recognized that the Chinese regime waited two months to tell the world that the virus is transferred between humans and is exceedingly infectious. . . . Even worse, . . . from late January until late February, the Chinese bought $1.2 billion worth of medical protective gear. This included 2 billion masks and more than 25 million protective suits.
“In other words, while China was hiding the dangers of the made-in-China virus from the world, they were buying up the world’s supply of protective gear and thus ensuring that when the virus began striking the rest of the world, the rest of the world would lack the means to protect itself.”
But until recently, the Western press seemed determined to absolve the Communist regime and turn the truth upside down.
Another case in point: Now that Israel finally appears to have a government after an unprecedented three elections and a peculiar deal involving an alternating prime ministership between Benjamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz, all eyes are turning to the West Bank (Judea and Samaria), wondering, Will Israel annex it?
The United States has given Israel a green light. But the rest of the world is furious, particularly Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas. “We will not stand handcuffed if Israel announces the annexation of any part of our land,” he declared.
His land? It’s not his land. It’s Israel’s land. If you’re interested in a quick read that’s full of facts you won’t get from the news media, I recommend our power-packed booklet Israel: Whose Land Is It Anyway?
Someday these frustrations will be settled by the King of kings Himself: Jesus, the Messiah of Israel and Savior of the world. In this issue of Israel My Glory, we discuss why the King must come before the Kingdom. This truth, too, is often turned upside down. But Jesus will turn it right side up when He returns. Until then, maranatha!
Waiting for His Appearing,
