I hagve heard many cirticisms of Scofirld especially today with the hyper-anitzionists worldview in Christianity. These folks seem to marginally anti-semetic. I do see the point about the cabal and that most of this cabal are jews. I however hold that God still intends to honor his covenants with Abraham Not all Jewish people are zionists. God, even though he has severely punished them in the past still holds them close to the heart. I think the tribulation for Israel will be especially harsh. As for Scofield, i see him as c caocientious and diligent scolar who helped bring back a futuristic interpretation of prophecy that was prevalent in the first 3 centuries co the church. The Scofield haters are pretorists or something similar, and believe the prophesy took place in and around 70 AD and that the “Church” is the new Israel and therefore the Jews have dismissed from the Abrahamic covenant. Also these anti Scofielders are very anti-Israel and pro palestenian it seems ans like most of the world blame Israel for all the woes of the world. They largely differ from mine i in theyirthinking the cabal is being led B.B amd the Moussad. I just dont see evidence of that but see the Weishaupt founded world bankers and all the American and European Jews that are the gazillionaires and concentrated in Enngland where the tribes of masassas and other northern tribes were said to have settled to be the present day cabal. Scofield who reportedly was a sinner(so am I) saved by grace and through faith alone and was a “good guy”. i do not know how right he will prove to be after the unveiling of end time events, but I think he was an excellent example of the Amazing Grace given us by the blood ofJesus Christ shed for you and me that we may be saved.. The prophecy of Daniel and The Revelation of Jesus Christ are still relevant for our time. Just read and open your eyes and ears.
I made the comment several days ago on another article here that Dr. Showers isn’t often wrong but here is another instance where he is in error. Schofield and Spaddon as well should not be lauded so loudly. While they were solid on the gospel, they are partially responsible for the problems in the American church today. They compromised the word of God when they capitulated to the evolutionists accepting billions of years for the age of the earth. Ever since the credibility of God’s word has been attacked to the point where even professing believers don’t believe the Bible to be true. I’m sure they regretted that even though momentarily after they arrived in Heaven. But for them it’s water under the bridge but the rest of us dispensationalists are left doing double-duty to contend for the faith. We must remain true and faithful to His word and His cause.

I have read many disparaging accounts of this man, even having been called a grievous wolf. as well that he mainly copied Darby in his “unscriptural” dispensational teachings.

Thank you for this article. I have seen too many Anti-Semitic Pastors/Teachers who claim that C.I. Scofield was a Zionist and was funded and suborned by a cabal of Jewish Kabbalists. These conspiracy theorists try and tell us that Scofield was merely a shill for Zionism and used Dispensational Theology to introduce and soften the American people for the concept of a Jewish Homeland. However I have not seen any evidence to support this theory.
I cannot tell you how much I have appreciated Dr. Renald Showers’ various ministries-speaking, meticulous research, teaching, and writing he had throughout his life. I met him once, perhaps twice and it was a tremendous privilege and blessing to have done so. He was such a kind thoughtful Christian man. Words fail to express the sorrow (though not as those without hope) at this time over the home going of this dear servant of Christ. I know the FOI family feels his loss, and probably have for some time given the disease from which he suffered. But we do rejoice for him as He is now in the presence of the dear Lord he loved so deeply. I do thank the Lord for the impact and blessing Dr. Showers has had in my own life and in the lives of countless others over the years! Thank the Lord for the wonderful example Dr. Showers was, and for his faithfulness to our Lord over the many years! Maranatha!
